Gene Long - President of Distribution
Gene Long is the President of Distribution for National DCP, LLC (NDCP), the $2 billion supply chain management cooperative for the franchisees of Dunkin’ Donuts. In this capacity, Long focuses on all of the assets of our business in terms of transportation and warehouse operations. The industry thought leader has more than 40 years of experience in cross-industry supply chain strategy, global operations management and transformational change.
Most recently serving as the Chief Operating Officer of NDCP, Long held a number of key leadership roles before joining the organization in December 2014. His work as an operations executive has included stints as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for Cardinal Health, Founder and President of UPS Consulting, President and COO of SiteStuff and Founder and President of BAX Global. Over the past decade, Long has worked as a consultant to supply chain operators across many industries and as a national Director in Strategy & Operations at Deloitte Consulting, he served clients working in the wholesale distribution, consumer goods and manufacturing markets. Earlier with Ernst & Young, he oversaw performance of the firm’s global supply chain practice. During his time at DELL and BAX Global, he pioneered logistics innovations like merge-in-transit, outsourced assembly and returned goods management within the 3PL industry.
Long is the author of “From Insight to Foresight,” an article on supply chain risk management and mitigation. Engaged in external markets, the active speaker has recently addressed forums such as the National Council of Supply Chain Management, 2016 Trading Partner Alliance Supply Chain Conference (a Grocery Manufacturers Association and Food Marketing Institute event) and the 2016 Partnership Gwinnett’s Movers & Makers Conference. Long is also the former Co-Chair of the Graduate School of International Logistics at Georgia Tech.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) from Augusta State University, studied for a Master of Business Administration at Baldwin Wallace College and received a Certification in Transportation and Traffic Management from the College of Advanced Traffic in Akron, Ohio.
